SALE OR PRE-LISTING MARINE SURVEY


Purpose: Considering that prior preparation prevents poor results, this survey intends to effectively prepare the seller and the vessel prior to sale or listing.  This survey is designed to give the seller a good preview of the Pre-Purchase Surveys to come that could ruin a sale, or result in a lowered price.  Utilizing the findings and recommendations of this survey, the seller can repair or upgrade where necessary and be properly prepared to deal with any objections that may arise during the sale.

Survey Report Format: Includes: Table of Contents; General Information; Scope of Survey; Standards; Valuation; General Description; Findings and Recommendations (stated, explained and discussed) by major functional system and element (see SIP above); Summary of Recommendations; and, Appendices (pictures, diagrams and charts). This report is usually, twenty (20) pages or more and written with the seller considered as the primary reader and user.
